Matchday Grounds Person (Casual)
Engagement: Ad hoc, zero hour contract
Location: The City Ground, Nottingham, NG2 5FJ OR The Nigel Doughty Academy, Nottingham, NG2 7SR
Working Arrangements: On site
Support the pool of Matchday Grounds staff with tasks at the City Ground for Men’s First Team, Women’s First Team and Academy fixtures. The role includes helping with pitch repairs, moving equipment, and divoting on a matchday. This role is perfect for individuals that are already working in the industry. This role will require manual labour.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Assist in pitch repairs after warm-ups, at half-time, and full-time.
• Follow instruction of the Grounds Manager and Deputy Grounds Manager on a matchday.
• Responsibilities will include but not limited to: dismantling portable warm up goals, dismantling ball stop nets, divoting, and any other tasks that ensure the highest of standards are kept wherever possible.
• The Grounds Casual Staff will be required to be available for as many fixtures as possible for both, NFFC Men’s and the Women's team matches. In addition to any potential extra fixtures being hosted at the City Ground, from 90-minutes before kick-off and to be flexible post-match.
• Wear any personal protective equipment provided, and comply with all Health and Safety guidelines, working in a manner not to cause injury or harm to yourself or anyone else, or the property of the Club.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
- Experience in working as a grounds person preferably within a sporting institution.
- Excellent timekeeping, attendance and is reliable
- Dedicated to working to the highest standard at all times, displays a positive attitude, is discrete and trustworthy
- Resilient and comfortable working outdoors
- Ability to perform tasks that may involve extended periods of walking (up to 6 miles) and lifting items (up to 25kg), with or without the use of manual handling equipment. Reasonable adjustments can be made to accommodate individual needs.
