Join our team as a Physical Performance Coach and immerse yourself in the dynamic world of professional sports. This role is your gateway to pioneering advancements in athletic performance within our Women’s First Team.
You will be at the heart of our multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely on a daily basis to cover all facets of Sports Science and Performance. Your expertise will help shape the standards of athletic development, ensuring our players emerge as robust professionals equipped to excel in the demanding landscape of women's football as we aim to progress into the FA Women's Championship.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide professional and world-leading physical performance support for all senior women players, including individual programs and long-term athletic development plans. Collaborate with the women’s technical team to understand and integrate their philosophy within the physical performance delivery.
- Collaborate with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to deliver assessment-based interventions for players, enhancing their physical capabilities for optimal performance and establishing a comprehensive approach to athlete development, well-being, and performance optimisation.
- Work closely with the medical team to oversee the return-to-performance process for assigned players. In conjunction with the medical department, develop female-specific related prehab and appropriate rehab to minimise injury risk and maximise player availability.
- Use appropriate databases to monitor and manage player loading, working closely with the MDT to organise the weekly training plans and long-term periodisation plan. Individualise player plans and support with the management of women’s players who are on loan.
- Maintain a comprehensive, indexed database of work and provide regular dashboard updates to the Women’s head coach and medical staff. Contribute to players individual development plans, reviews, and audits to assess performance and potential, as well as support evidence-based departmental projects.
- Maintain all gym, rehab, and prehab areas and ensure the maintenance and promotion of gym equipment and facilities. Provide workshops during the season to educate on anti-doping, fitness, and dietary matters.
- Always ensure appropriate professional confidentiality and behave to project a professional image of Nottingham Forest Football Club. Be responsible for both individual health & safety and that of those you are responsible for, and ensure the relationship with children and adults at risk is appropriate.
- Undertake training to ensure an understanding of best practice in relation to children and/or adults at risk as expected by the Company
Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to various locations due to the demands of the role
- BSc in Sports Science or a related field
- Preferentially hold a Master’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Science or a related discipline
- Hold UK Strength & Conditioning Association (UKSCA) Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) credential or working towards
- FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) qualification
- Be a UKAD Clean Sport Advisor
- At least 1 years practical experience working in an elite sport environment
- Confident communicator at all levels
- A good team player with the ability to work discreetly, under pressure
- Experience of working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary team
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends around the training schedule
- The willingness to partake in ongoing CPD
Desirable:
- Additional S&C related qualifications (e.g. NSCA/BWLA/FA Level 3)
- Be a BASES Accredited Sports Scientist
- HSE recognised First Aid Trainer Certification
- An understanding of the menstrual cycle and its effects on performance
- Experience of working in Women’s professional football
