Foundation Phase Coach (Casual)
Engagement: Part Time (zero hour contract)
Location: The Nigel Doughty Academy, Nottingham, NG2 7SR
Working Arrangements: On site
Nottingham Forest Football Club is looking for dynamic qualified part-time casual coaches to join our Category 1 Academy Coaching Department within the Foundation phase. They will implement our modern player development processes and report to the Foundation Phase Manager and be responsible for the technical development and assist in the physical, mental, social and where necessary, academic development of the Academy schoolboy players within Nottingham Forest Football Club. Creating an exciting and innovative environment supporting our modern outplaying methodology. They will have strong knowledge of how young people learn and deliver engaging and energetic session content to deliver on our aim of developing Premier League quality players for our first team.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide dynamic coaching to develop players of elite quality who are technically excellent, creative and allow us to achieve our objective of outplaying the opposition.
- Research current trends of coaching/teaching, player development, and industry best practice to inform modern learning within the Academy
- Support our clear player development principles and implement high standards of practice across the academy training and match days.
- Contribute to the delivery of our coaching vision in line with our player development key performance indicators.
- In conjunction with their respective age group co-ordinators make informed recommendations regarding the signing of trialists and the retention of players.
- Act at all times in a manner appropriate of the Club displaying the academy standards and ensure that all players in your charge also act in an appropriate fashion and display the strong Academy behaviours.
- Promptly communicate with the Academy Phase Leads all important information, e.g. late arrivals, non-attendance.
- Take part in Continued Professional Development (CPD) activities, both inside and outside the Club, to improve the quality of your coaching and overall work, e.g. ensuring all qualifications are up to date and additional, relevant qualifications are undertaken when appropriate and agreed with the Head of Coaching.
- Where necessary and if available take part in the scouting of players within the Academy.
- Complete all the necessary administration to comply with EPPP requirements and the Football intelligence hub
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum current qualification UEFA B Licence.
- FA Youth Award.
- Knowledge of how young people learn.
- Valid DBS/CRB check.
- Safeguarding Children Certificate.
- Dynamic delivery style both on and off the pitch
- FA Coaches Club Licence Maintenance.
- Emergency First Aid (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working with these age groups preferably in an Academy or Centre of Excellence.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- UEFA A Licence.
- Advanced Youth Award.
- UEFA Pro Licence.
