Strength and Conditioning Coach (Netball)

Lead the Netball 1st Team and Pathway squad strength & conditioning (gym-based) programme.
Maximise the potential of all Netball 1st Team players and Pathway players, including individualising programmes to develop physical qualities and increase robustness. Enhance individual physical performance and culture, making S&C an integral component of high performance.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- To lead the delivery of S&C (gym-based) sessions to all 1st team and Pathway players.
- To individualise S&C programmes to maximise the development of physical qualities and performance.
- To individualise pre-training programmes to ensure all Netball players are ready to perform optimally (daily).
- To assist with gym-phase rehabilitation of Netball First Team and Pathway players.
- To use the appropriate testing and screening tools to monitor and measure all team players physical qualities and readiness to perform optimally.
- To feedback to the Netball Head Coach and Pathway Lead on sessional reports and respective testing data.
- To feedback to the Netball Physiotherapist about the injured players in the gym-based rehabilitation.
- Oversee the development and effective management or related facilities and equipment.
- To maintain and develop a S&C testing database, testing and screening data and reports.
- To assist in other areas of Sports Science (including data analysis, pitch-based physical development, recovery & regeneration, nutrition strategies etc.) when needed.
- Long-term load and athletic development planning.
- Have consistently high standards.
- Play a key role in promoting a positive high-performance culture.
- Ensure the latest clinical, scientific, and technical innovations for applied practice are implemented while maintaining the highest level of care.
- Liaise closely with national teams’ performance and medical departments to ensure players’ sports science and medical needs are met during international duty.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
- BSc in Sports Science or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a professional sports team
- Experience of delivering physical performance gym-based coaching in elite sport
- Excellent understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics
- Excellent understanding of physical screening and S&C programming
- Excellent understanding of human physiology and principles of athletic performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that are clear, engaging and responsive to convey complex information to individuals
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills with special reference to Excel
- Proactive and engaging style with a winning attitude and can-do approach
- UKSCA accredited, or on the pathway to becoming accredited.
