Maintenance Multi-Skilled Engineer

Location: The City Ground, Nottingham, NG2 5FJ and The Nigel Doughty Academy, Nottingham, NG2 7SR

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair work on a wide range of mechanical systems and equipment in both industrial and commercial settings. You will play a critical role in ensuring machinery and systems operate efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, and lighting systems.
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to ensure minimal downtime.
- Ensure proper functioning of critical systems like boilers, pumps, chillers, and generators.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical installations, including control panels, switchgear, and distribution boards.
- Conduct electrical testing and inspections in line with safety standards and regulations.
- Provide solutions to improve energy efficiency and optimize power usage.
- Maintain, repair, and install mechanical equipment, such as HVAC systems, ventilation units, compressors, and plumbing systems.
- Ensure all mechanical components comply with operational and safety standards.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Support other engineers and technicians as needed, contributing to a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and resolve breakdowns.
- Provide out-of-hours support when required (on-call rotation).
Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
Electrical:
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) or equivalent.
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
Mechanical:
- Plumbing certifications (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- HVAC qualifications (e.g., C&G 6187, F-Gas Certification) (desirable).
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, including LOLER and PUWER.
- Experience with condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Full UK driving licence (if required for the role).
