We are looking for an innovative, creative, proactive individual with excellent attention to detail to join our team as an Academy Analyst. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Academy Analysis department, primarily leading on the delivery of the analysis programme to the U9 – U16 age groups. This person will be responsible for providing staff and players with video, data and educational content which will enhance the development of individual players, whilst supporting the teams in line with Nottingham Forest’s playing philosophy.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
People
• Provide a high degree of support to key stakeholders and non-technical staff to use video and analysis to support the Academy programme.
• Work closely with analysts, coaches and wider staff to implement the academy analysis programme in line with EPPP regulations.
• Develop strong relationships with the Lead Coaches, Lead Analysts and wider MDT Team to support the elite player programme and the delivery of our Academy football programme.
• Help to manage and mentor all staff in the analysis department, including other analysts, placement students and voluntary analysts.
Product
• Utilise industry-leading hardware and software to aid in the capturing, handling and analysis of video footage.
• Work with and manage football-related databases and datasets that can be used to help build player profiles and assist staff to make informed decisions.
• Assist in the creating of dashboards and other tools to be presented and distributed across the Club.
Process
• Lead on the filming and analysis coverage of training and matches for Academy age groups.
• Travel to home and away fixtures to produce live analysis.
• Assist in supporting the development of individual players through the use of video and analysis.
• Design and deliver presentations focusing on Individual, Team, Syllabus, Educational and Statistical analysis.
• Support players as they progress across different age groups, or transition away from the club.
• Assist in building and maintaining libraries of best practice clips from matches & training, including relevant data reports from match play.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
Essential
• Undergraduate degree in Performance Analysis, Sports Science, or relevant field.
• Experience working within a professional football environment.
• Detailed technical and tactical knowledge of football.
• Proficent on Hudl Sportscode, Studio and Hudl sharing platform.
• Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office software packages.
• Pro-actively solve problems with a positive attitude to new challenges.
• Ability to learn new skills and work part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail, whilst having the ability to showcase key information through strong visuals and clear, concise information.
• High level of communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends when required.
Desirable
• Postgraduate degree in Performance Analysis, Sports Science, or relevant field.
• UEFA C License.
• Prior experience using Wyscout, Second Spectrum & similar platforms
• Prior experience handling Statsbomb data.
• Full UK drivers license
