About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive individual with excellent attention to detail to join our team at Nottingham Forest as a First Team Data Analyst. In this role, the successful candidate will focus on delivering key performance data insights, working closely with coaches and performance analysts to support pre- and post-match analysis, individual learning plans, executive reporting and a variety of other individual and collective research projects.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
People
Provide a high degree of support to key stakeholders and non-technical staff to enhance their understanding and utilisation of data.
Work closely with coaches, performance analysis staff and others to translate data into practical performance strategies.
Develop strong relationships with the Coaching, Analysis and Data Insights teams, working with the wider MDT to support key workflows and processes.
Process
Collaborate with performance analysts to produce pre- and post-match analysis reports and support the creation and delivery of opposition profiling and individual learning plans.
Use data to answer ad-hoc performance questions to support decision-making, efficiently translating data and information into actionable insights.
Lead on data visualisation projects to answer key performance questions, supporting the creation of comprehensive player profiles and a robust reporting system.
Responsible for long-term longitudinal research projects focused on identifying trends.
Product
Querying, wrangling and manipulation of data.
Work with various complex football datasets to create custom metrics.
Build dashboards and other tools to be presented and distributed across the Club.
Ensure data best practices across the Club, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the wider Club data strategy.
What are we looking for:
Essential
Relevant qualification in Performance Analysis, Sports Science or Data Science.
Previous experience working with Tableau or equivalent visualisation software to drive actions.
Previous experience working with data and delivering actionable insights within a professional football club context.
Evidence of working and communicating insights from football data.
Creative and curious problem solver with a positive attitude to new challenges.
Proactive and keen to learn, able to pick up new skills and work as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and evidence of working on developing strong analytical skills.
Desirable
Evidence of data analytics CPD, certification or course.
Strong understanding of technical and tactical aspects of football.
Basic experience with R/Python and other programming languages.
Basic experience using SQL for data management and analysis.
